The Sites' Webmaster Hello I'm Assunta Bechelli-Connor aka Tina. On top of my busy job as an NHS Manager, I am in the process of putting together this personal website -: the design, the content, the updates, the family research- I am in the process of updating it at the moment.
A little bit more about me; I like the written word I like to read about real people, biographies, current affairs, history, a wide range of different subjects. I listen to a lot of music and James Taylor, Mary Chapin-Carpenter, Kathy Mattea and Jennifer Warnes are amongst my favourites. I also like the Eagles, the Mavericks, Tricia Yearwood, Alison Krauss, Eva Cassidy. I also like light classical so my tastes are varied really. I enjoy writing articles/reports, putting queries together, researching – I am tenacious - I never give up. I love animals and have two pets a greyhound called Lucca (male) and a cat called Tootsie (female) – they get on very well but she is the boss.
In the workplace I like to create a supportive environment. I'm an honest communicator and can see things from other peoples viewpoint.(See About page for information about where I work)
The Ancestor List Are we related? Is your great-grandfather our mother's cousin's grandmother nephew once removed? There's only one way to find out . . . In this list, names and dates are indexed by surname:
Bechelli Connor Marchi Ralston
About the Family Roots The Bechelli’s came from Lucca and Barga in Tuscany, Italy. They settled in the Kingdom of Fife and then moved to Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, Scotland in the early 1900s. My ex spouses's family the Connor's came from County Cork in Ireland probably around the late 1800s and settled in Ayrshire, Scotland. I am currently researching my family history on my Mothers side (Ralston). My two sons have quite an explosive mixture of blood in their veins - Scottish/Italian/Irish - so that probably explains why they are a bit temperamental!

Oh, Give Me A Home (Or At Least A Room) Where The Teen’s Don't Roam Oh, Give Me A Home (Or At Least A Room) Where The Teen’s Don't Roam (Virginia Woolf had one. Why is it so hard for me?)
My “office” is my spare bedroom, where my computer, files, and padded computer chair are my comfort and my joy. I chose this room to work in as it was far away from the kitchen, but also because I visualised it being the only room in the house where my teenage son would heed the “Keep Out – Irritable Mother At Work” warning sign on the door and respect it. Fat chance. It all started so well allowing Mum some “alone time” just to get some work done online.
I dreamed of uninterrupted hours of pounding the keyboard into written works of art for future publication, browsing the world wide web, while I lazily sipped my camomile tea. I hoped inspiration would come from wistful glances out my 'office' window while songbirds serenaded me. I poured over Staples catalogues, making mental notes about which organizational tool I would need, and how I would obsessively and successfully arrange a home-office to make life that bit easier. Looking back, those dreams were nice…while they lasted.
My (shattered) dream of uninterrupted peace and quiet while working is often peppered with notes carefully slid under the door by my teenage son, pleading in written form, “Any chance of a bacon buttie” or “I thought you said you were making a cuppa” or “how do you get blackcurrant cordial out of the carpet”? He’s no idiot. He knows I will have to log off and come downstairs to clean up the mess! And after I’ve done that return to what I was doing and hope for another five minutes worth of quality writing until the next disaster strikes. Back to the drawing board.
PS I should really get more exercise but I’ve just remembered another sensible statement that my mother once uttered “If God wanted me to touch my toes, He would have put them on my knees”.
