my search

My name is Rolf Vaessen.Born in Germany where Holland and Belgum meet at Aachen in 1938 of Roman Catholic Parents. Left home at 17 to join the french Foreign Legion where I got wounded in the legs. After that I could not find my way back into society, so I migrated to Australia where I found my life in God. I gave myself to Bible studies and to Jesus Christ who died for me.

God also gave me a godly woman and two sons and a daughter. Looking back now of 35 years walking and following my Lord and Saviour Jesus, I couldn't have asked for more.
If you allow me, I like to tell you more about what I learned and experienced. While working in Canberra Hospital in 1966, I met so many Clergymen of all persuations and everyone was very helpful. The Lutheran was also german and explain why the Protestant Reformation. After that my conscience would no longer permit me to worship idols in my Church. But God must have surely guided me in the nick of time before I became a Lutheran, when the Baptist Minister told me the truth about 'baptism'.
From here on I became much more cautious. The mass confusion in Christianity with 400 or so variations can become disturbing. Every one claims to be right and all others wrong! But there is a way the Devil cannot beat, and that is asking God for guidance if you are serious in wanting truth. His promise is found in John 16:13 that he will personally guide us by His Holy Spirit into all truth.
I found that there was a time when all Christians believed in the 10 Commandments. But how different the picture today!!! We all must and need to be convicted of sin by the needle of the law of God. It used to be part of the Good News of the Gospel, but man have since changed it.

I now have learned more from Jesus and how to have a closer walk with Him who is the one alltogether lovely.
I truly believe that real happiness and satisfaction only comes from and through Him and the Bible.

The Goodness of GOD

The goodness of our GOD leads us to repentance. i have had mine forgiven and cleansed in the blood of our GOD.
King David often triumphed in GOD, and yet he dwelled much on his own unworthiness and sins.
His conscience was not dead or asleep. "My sin", he cried, "is ever before me."he did not flatter himself that sin was a matter with which he had nothing to do, and that should not concern him. As he saw the depth of deceit in his heart, he was deeply disgusted with himself, and prayed that GOD would keep him back by His power from presumptious sins, and cleanse him from secret faults. [Psalms 51].

It is not safe to close our eyes and harden our consciences, that we shall not see or realize our sins. We need to cherish the instructions in regard to the hateful character of sin in order that we may repent of and confess our sins. happy are those whose sins are forgiven.
