MARK CALVERT

Please visit the link shown at the bottom of this section to see the watercolours painted by a very talented man. His affinity with the dogs comes through in both his training and his paintings.

He holds training classes in Preston throughout the year and also offers private 1 to 1 sessions.

And paints wonderful pictures when he isn't training. You just need a good photo of your dogs (or other animals) and he can work from that but dont take my word for it go and visit his website (link below)

DO YOU HAVE PROBLEMS WALKING YOUR DOG?

If so then take a look at the Dogmatic Website. Most dogs we have tried take to them really well and the difference is unbelievable. No more pulling and a well behaved dog. Its not a 100% cure in some cases but does mean the walk becomes enjoyable and not a fight until they are offlead running around. If you are more relaxed then so is your dog then you can work on the lead walking commands for waiting at the kerb etc.

Other alternatives are Gentle Leaders, Haltis and Gentle Controllers. The first two are headcollar types similar to each other and working on the same principle as the Dogmatic but are lighter weight. The Gentle Controller is a fiugre 8 shaped all in one headcollar and lead which is a "one size fits all". This can be good if you need only to walk one dog at once like us with some of the rescues and don't want to be constantly refitting for different sized dogs. It can be very good but occasionally a dog will take a dislike to it if it crosses under the chin in an uncomfortable spot.

Haltis and Gentle Leaders can be bought at major pet shops and some vets. For the GenCon Gentle Controller see the manufacturers site linked above.

The dog on the left is wearing a Halti and the one on the right the new cushioned fabric dogmatic.
