| LANCASHIRE GERMAN SHEPHERD RESCUE |
PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE NO LONGER ABLE ACCEPT DOGS WITH BEHAVIOURAL PROBLEMS FOR REHOMING BUT ARE HAPPY TO GIVE YOU ADVICE TO OVERCOME THE PROBLEMS YOU MAY BE HAVING We are recognised by the Kennel Club as a Breed Specific Rescue.
If you are looking to give a home to a rescue GSD in the hope of taking on a dog who is already trained please think again. Many of our dogs do have impeccable manners and are beautifully well trained as they have come from good homes, perhaps from a marriage split up or change of circumstances that mean that a loving owner can no longer take care of their dog as they would wish to. However, some of our dogs have unsettled backgrounds, and may need a lot of support to help re-socialise them. We do not always know the background of our dogs and can only tell you what we have found out about them whilst they have been living with us. There are situations you may come across in your home that upset them that we won't know about purely because your circumstances are different than ours. We tell you as much as we possibly can about the dog and any background we have been given including their past health. If you are willing to accept that a Rescue Dog may need a lot of your time and you are willing to give him/her your full commitment then please read on and take a look at our orphans.
If you would like to read more about us first please go to the "More K9 Info" page.

DONATIONS As we have said above donations are always welcome by sending a cheque through the post. But did you know that we also have sponsors who donate weekly or monthly by direct debit? This is so easy to do just ask us for a sponsor pack via the contacts page (including your address) and we will send you two forms - one for our records and one a direct debit mandate for your bank. Fill them both in and send one back to us and one to the bank. We will also send you a leaflet telling you a little about us. If you choose to sponsor a specific dog we will try to keep you updated with their progress though most people just sponsor "any". As the dogs often come and go so quickly they feel that is best. You can choose to donate weekly, monthly or just annually whichever you prefer.
Donations of any size are welcome though we do have sponsors like Caroline Wood who donates weekly by this method. She has made sure from the start that our payment is the first one to be made each month. She says in this way we are sure to get it and you don't miss it - this adds up to quite an amount each year! As she has been donating for several years, since adopting Casey and later on Sasha, it has amounted to several thousand pounds in all over the years for which we thank her from the bottom of our hearts.
So why not contact us and join our regular donators - it needn't be much - it all adds up!
Thanks go to everyone who donates to us be it time, money, food, toys, bedding etc which makes our dogs as much at home as they possibly can be in their time with us.

SARA
Hello my name is Sara. I知 a 4yr female. I知 staying with my foster carers at the moment until I have found a loving family home to go to. I love the great outdoors, going for walks, playing ball and love water too as you will see in my recent photos attached to this letter. I am eating very well here: they feed me all different types of dog foods and mixers and I知 looking really good now with a nice shiny coat. At the moment I知 sharing my foster home with 2 males and 1 other female - all are German Shepherds too! I must tell you I知 not a lover of cats - they startle me but at least I知 trying to. I am house trained, sit on command and also lie down when asked. I am walking very well on the lead now and I also understand the command heel,.. all I知 asking for is another start in my life and a loving family home. I知 very loving, and willing to learn all the time so please can you help? If you would like too adopt me please contact Mr TED KEWLEY......... Love Sara XXX
K9 INFORMATION |
LUCY AND BABE .JPG) Hello we are Lucy and Babe. We are litter sisters and are 6 years old. We used to live outdoors in a warm wendy house and a big garden. We were being left alone for too long cos Mum and Dad had to work. We love to run and play with each other, but as sisters do we also have the odd grumble at each other! We sleep in the same pen and eat our meals together. Babe says I try to pinch her food when she isn't looking, but Jan watches me and won't let me! Jan took us both for a walk but we tangled up our long leads so we were almost knitted together! Babe has been out on her own but I wouldn't go and leave her behind. We aren't spayed but we have had vaccinations.
We haven't lived with young children and were ok with the ones we have seen but I think we would be better with older ones or adults.
We are good girls when we are brushed and have our ears cleaned. We get a bit keen on the treats though and have to be reminded to take them gently.
Please contact Jan if you would like to see us.
You may use the contacts page for any of the dogs. Please head your request with ADOPT and the name of the dog/s you are interested in. We will send a home check form which will help us to match you with the dog we feel most suitable for your lifestyle. |
