LANCASHIRE GERMAN SHEPHERD RESCUE

AMY, FREDDY AND ZANDER - HAVE A PERMANENT HOME WITH DADDY TED (DIRECTOR OF THE RESCUE)

This extension to our main site is now completed but we hope to revise it shortly so keep looking to see what has changed.

You may use the contact page on either part of the site but please do not use both as they are directed to the same email address. Please ensure your email address is correct and include a contact telephone number preferably a landline. In the subject line of the contact please tell us if you are in need of rehoming (REHOME) your dog or wish to adopt (ADOPT) with the name of the dog(s) you are interested in. We will then send you the appropriate forms and any further information you have requested.

Throughout the site (this and the main one) you will find links to various websites which we have found useful for dog training, other rescue sites, DOGS TRUST, The Kennel Club, various helplines etc. Please browse the pages and see what you can find. If you find any links that are not working please contact us with the name of the link and the page you found it on. The change-over from our old linked pages seems to have gone smoothly - we hope it has for you too. If you have any comments on our newly revised site please let us know. We welcome them whether they are positive or will give us ideas on how we may improve. We ARE limited in the scope of what we can do with the format but please let us know if there is anything you would like to see that we haven't thought of.

PRESTON AGILITY DOGS - PHOTOS FROM THE FIRST SHOW OF THE YEAR IN MAY

Are you holding a Summer Fair this year? Do you have a decent size outdoor arena and are wondering how you can fill it? Do you want something different to draw the crowds instead of the usual Raffle tables, Tombola tables and the tired old Jumble Sale table?

Well how about a Dog Agility Demonstration? All the dogs are there for the fun of it - they really enjoy it and so do their owners. All ranges of skills and abilities from the learners to the "Experts"

This fun filled attraction wont cost the earth and is sure to bring lots of people to your fair that may never have considered going to a Summer Fete before. Children particularly enjoy watching the dogs as they jump the fences, disappear into the tunnels, use the seesaw and much more....

Why not contact Bill or Mark for more information?

GSD HELPLINE

HYDROTHERAPY & MASSAGE

Anne Johnson has been providing hydrotherapy treatments for many years in the pool she had built for her own labradors which she breeds. She lets out the use of her pool to other dogs in need of non-weightbearing excercise following operations or to build up muscle tone which had been lost due to periods of inactivity. The dogs really enjoy swimming and can also play ball in the water. The long leads are used to give the dog confidence but also with one walker on each side so the dog must use both sides equally to help strengthen the weaker side. There are steps at the corner so that the dog can walk slowly in (particluarly good if your dog is a little nervous at first and stops you getting soaked with the dog jumping in!)

Anne also takes veterinary referrals for many different conditions – orthopaedic problems, post-operative rehabilitation, obesity, arthritic conditions, but some dogs do come just for fun and fitness. She consults with owners on suitable rehabilitation exercises which they can then follow up at home.

Also available are one and two-day workshops in hydrotherapy.

As well as the pool (which Anne has recently had refurbished) there are magnetic therapy treatments and massage. Anne has recently qualified in canine massage but this requires your vet’s permission.

There is a drying area where the dogs can be towelled down afterwards and a blow drier wihch is essential in wintertime.

Although grooming isn't available Anne does bath dogs too.

Please contact Anne via email: teazledownlabs@talktalk.net
or her phone number is 01772 335930 if you prefer

Anne is in the Longton area of Preston. Parking space is available.

HAND CRAFTED LEATHER GOODS

The bag featured here is just one of the many items that you can have individually made by EKAS Leathers. One like this may cost from only £30. Each unique piece would cost far more than this elsewhere for this quality of leather and craftmanship but Ve does this for the love of the craft and any profits that are made benefit the rescue. The bag looks stunning and the texture of the dogs coat is embossed. Not so easy to photograph to do it justice.

Also belts, leads etc. They can be embossed or carved.

MOLLY AND THE PEDIGREE ADOPTION DRIVE

Here, hopefully, you can see Molly on her way to her new home with her new pal behind her. The yellow reflection you can see, which somewhat hides her, is a Pedigree Adoption Drive T-Shirt.

Molly's new mum first rang us up to let us know the store where she works had lots of donated dog food if we would like some (thank you customers) in response to the adoption drive and the stores involvement with it. When we arrived she spoke of her interest in having a GSD when she had moved to her new home. She has done so now and today came to have a look at our lads and lasses and fell for Molly and so did her dog.

So even indirectly the Adoption Drive is working well. So it is thanks to Pedigree (and Morrisons) that Molly now has her new home.

Just in case Molly is a little too obscured when viewed on your pc there is a 2nd photo of her while she was out in the field with Sonny.
